The Learning Shelf
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how The Learning Shelf handles information when adults visit our website, join an email list, register interest in an app or membership, or contact us.
Last updated: July 17, 2026Information we collect
When you submit an interest or signup form, we may collect your email address, first name, audience type, app or membership interests, beta-testing preference, signup source, campaign attribution information, and the date of submission. Website analytics may also collect limited technical information such as browser type, device type, pages visited, referral source, and approximate region.
Please do not submit sensitive information or personal information about a child through our public forms.
How we use information
We use information to send requested updates, manage beta and membership interest, improve our educational products, understand which resources are useful, respond to enquiries, protect the website from abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use waitlist information for unrelated third-party advertising.
Cookies and analytics
We use Firebase and Google Analytics to understand website performance and general usage. These services may use cookies, local storage, or similar identifiers. The website also uses local storage for a short form-submission cooldown and may use reCAPTCHA through Firebase App Check to reduce automated abuse.
Email communications
We send marketing or product emails only when an adult requests them or provides the required consent. You may unsubscribe using the link in an email or contact us directly. Transactional responses to an enquiry may still be sent when necessary.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including restricted Firestore access rules and abuse-prevention controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here or as required by law.
Children’s privacy
The Learning Shelf creates educational experiences for children, but the public website’s signup and interest forms are intended for parents, carers, educators, and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through these forms. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Third-party services
We use service providers such as Google Firebase, Google Analytics, Firebase App Check, and hosting or email-delivery providers to operate the website. These providers may process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not authorise them to sell waitlist information or use it for their own unrelated marketing.
Contact information
For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, or concerns about a child’s information, email hello@thelearningshelf.com.
